Kisel: like these chars a lot *G* JFletcher: supercool, both dragon and woman!! Renaud: nice that you continue! it's totally worth it Arno: nice! but something makes it bit flat.. could be the lighting combined with the background color.. k, next step: doing on in treedee
Jaydon: I don't have a pic of him in front of me but his brow line seems so flat and something about his eyes...maybe the size is too small? Makes him look kind of comical. Other than that looking really good.
A while ago I started work on an astronaut character, but never finished it due to time constraints. However, I picked him back up to have another go! Added some textures and stuff. He still feels a little flat. ~7,000k tris
I think what they're saying is if you have a texture that is a strip of hair, apply it to a plane, and add divisions and warp from there, it will be much easier (your uvs will be flat and you wont have to do any warping in photoshop). A texture like this, and then warped in your 3d package:
flat plane on the back selected and Nick Miller's plugin: http://www.artofnickmiller.com/tileHelper.html Actually i rewrote plugin for my own needs(if u wanna be my beta tester i can give you a copy :D), but Nick's plugin should do same(not always +_+)
This is progress from my escape thread (in sig)- Ford Theater- Presidential Booth Definitely some harsh lightmap errors going on, shading errors, as well as some major optimization that needs to be done not to mention only the flags are textured- the rest is flat color. Lots of work still to be done here.
looks tight man, BUT... i'd love it if just for once, someone who's including chain mail in their texturing, would stop the trend of just using a flat metallic diffuse/spec with the chainmail in the normals... there are gaps in the chains, why aren't those present in the texture? it happens in every game with chainmail,…
This is looking great Jeff, love the metal of the blade and the wood. But I feel the green gem on the bottom sticks out in an unfinished way. It just feels very flat. I think maybe pushing some really strong contrasting highlights in places/on the edges could make this thing really shine and look more like a gem.
Moof thats a badass design!! awesome. going to call this done for now. Need to do a polish pass on it still, will revisit after finishing the others in the set. been a long time to finish a texture like this, woo! Now, if the Torchlight 2 Editor will just come out... Could import to Torchlight 1 i guess, but meh. flat
This is really cool man, digging those eyes + colour scheme. Stayed very true to the concept. He has a great expression on him =). The mouth could with a little more depth though to balance it out? Perhaps its just the angle, seems a bit flat currently, even though it has wrinkles sculpted in. Probs not finished i know =P.
