I played around with two at work. I was impressed, especially with the photoshop painting and what not. The problem I see tho is that the general population will probably think of it as an ipad and then... well, why would they want the surface when they can have an ipad? You know how people are.
So, I'll ask again... Isn't it the stylus that's pressure sensitive rather than the screen? I'm sure I read somewhere that in a Wacom tablet, it's the stylus that provides the pressure sensitivity and not the surface... If so, surely the stylus could be made for this tablet even if MS don't supply one with it.
exactly. Which is why a more powerful igp would be prudent. Btw your link talking about the surface pro only mentions the next generation will include smaller sizes. At no point did it say it would only be such. Especially the flak the designers got about the small battery.
It's still not as sensitive as an intuos, but it's definitely sensitive enough to do light sketching. I've owned both an Intuos 4 and the Surface Pro and the freedom it gives greatly surpasses the need for that last gram of sensitivity. The main issues with drawing on the SP has to do with the Wacom bug, when the…
Quite frankly if the new surface has a smaller screensize I am not interested in it at all. I already think the current one is kinda the minimum to work on it properly. As far as performance goes I haven't heard any complaints for PS or ZBrush yet, but ofc more is always better! :)
The surface (that you write on, the wacom tablet/wacom screen) has tech in it to know where you are pressing. The pen says how hard. You need BOTH for it to work. So with the surface (microsoft tablet) the screen knows where you are pressing, therefore all you'd need is a pen to talk to the tablet, as microsoft is all for…
I am super interested in diving in with a surface pro for digital painting, but I'm just waiting for PS/ZBrush to have strong touch controls so that I won't need a keyboard handy every time I want to edit my brush settings quickly or other common commands
drew you seem to forget that i could not care about 3d coat even one bit. heh. Decided im going to get the ativ pro if it is ever in stuck any fucking where. I'll upgrade to the larger format surface that will come out some time later next year instead.
haswell smjaswell.. 9% overall speed increase or bigger screen + decent wacom tablet built in... I´ll take the latter :P Yes I say 9% because thats what the pcworld benchmark suggested from speed tests from the original surface pro. Only downside of the wacom is the batterylife.
I see hipster business professionals interpretive dancing with them ALL THE TIME... [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2KPQNP1Z1s"]Microsoft Surface Pro Commercial - YouTube[/ame] See microsoft, it worked for the ipod because it was a device that plays music... <sigh> I just don't underst... you know what? Nevermind...
