Okay, this is driving me insane. I have specified the path to .vmt file using $cdmaterials. compile open up the mdl in HLMV and its pink and black checkers... Yes, the .vmt and 4 .vtf files are in the same folder. What gives?

i think most summons are borked in loadout, you can preview them ingame by sticking your compiled model into your 'SteamApps\common\dota 2 beta\dota\models\heroes' folder and using -override_vpk in your launch options
Has anyone figured out how to look at compiled models in the Dota Reborn model view? I tried placing my models (renamed to original equipment names) but there are a lot of new folders, not sure where they should go. (they work in old dota2)
Unless I missed something major from one of the updates dota 2 still does not have an sdk, so your StudioCompiler should be using the Alien Swarm sdk. Dota 2 does not have a vtf2tga.exe. If anything the importer issue could be tied to vtex.exe as that should be the tool it is using to convert the tga to the final vtf. You…
Thanks I kind of messed that up when I edited directly from my tga folder and photoshop didn't preserve the alpha channel when I opened it. New updates on the item but can someone explain why there are different colors depending on the angle.

Do a Find in Files in Notepad++ for all the VMTs in the heroes folder, look for "$alphatest 1" and that will show you all the vmts with alpha enabled. I know it was added for Queen of Pain shortly after they said they were adding alpha to heroes. She didn't have it before.
damnit ! just download lycan model from tech.req. site and quess what ? there is not .obj file anymore ! just maya + fbx, there should be also .smd files but the folder named "smd" is empty ;/ sombody could give me link to .ma or .fbx importer for blender ?
