Looks like Valve fixed Venomancer's import system for the ward and it's listed under abilities now :D I went ahead and re-uploaded the ward and figured it'd be good to let people know in case they missed the update.
Negative, it seems that only rotation and tranlation support is on the bones. I suppose you can try playing with the flex systems, but then you're going into risky bisky territory. It's normally best to play it safe, at least with my past experiences. :thumbup:
Rendered : yeah, as far as I am aware all the files are different now. You can get the old paks by downloading Dota2Test, which still uses the old system. That said, there is no way to know how long this will remain available.

I'm using the blue channel cause i baked the bent normal with 3d studio max...3dsmax uses a different coordination system where the vertical axis is Z and not Y, so in the end the vertical light information goes into the blue channel and not the green.
I've gotten to work them once, in December on my first courier using FBX. The second time I tried, January/Febuaryish, completely broken, same experience you are describing. I wouldn't be surprised if an update changed the system at some point in time.
