run into something weird with spec maps. anyone got any idea why my spec might not be working? seems to be uniformly shiny for some reason, like the whole thing was flat grey.
Shoulderpads are not editable for Dazzle, afaik. I've got the poison. #1 is proper Dota2 texture, #2 is flat and out of another game entirely You have to extract Dota2 files with GCFScape first
@mihal Looks awesome! The one thing I'd really suggest is to add a color gradient to the big triangular cloth piece, it just looks quite flat in the grand scheme of things right now.
@cverhoolen Nice work but the textures come out a bit flat in-game making the whole thing look very even from a topdown view. Also, what matcap are you using in Zbrush?
My first thoughts are its way too flat, the materials don't work, and the colors are all wrong. The flatness is coming from a lack of a good normal mad in combination with your other masks, specular and rimlight. The ideal thing would be to make high poly wings with all your details so you can bake these to a normal mad,…
I agree but 98% of the time in game the rockets are flipped back covering most of it. The poly limit is already pretty stretched so the best I could do is throw a flat piece of wood over it.
I've been working on a courier last weeks, and now i've got models ready and textures about 80%. Here's wip rends (flat lightning, diffuse only): What do you think?
@Silverknut: I agree with what Agito said. Also if it's possible, can you use more polys to make the armor looks thick? Particularly the shoulder pads, they look kinda flat right now.
@ lancemaker Ummm. Great work getting it in game and putting out the info. That is so helpful. @ RaYfIre This is something I had to figure out as well. My original first set was complete wrong, because the real definition of LOD had to do with a vertices count, but valve means tris. You just have to adapt. Sorry about…
@Prosomogy As vayne said, you could use some gradation. Aside from that I would up the contrast or hand paint in some ambient occlusion. Specially on the weapon, I think it will read to flat in game as is.
