You should, as mentionned above, smooth your edges to get rid of the polygon lines on your mesh. The second issue is that separate parts of the mesh are too close to each other and overlap during the raytracing. YOu can solve this to an extent by eitehr using a cage or reducing the front distance in the baking settings.…
I think this is true of every medium nowadays, I think it's down to the fact that our basest fears have been covered pretty extensively, so as new angle, a new way to make skin crawl is rare (the Welcome to Night Vale podcast, while being a comedy actually achieves this every now and then). But it applies to games so much…
i guess we are talking about different things. i am not really talking about endless iteration, or obsessing over details that no one will see. it should be common sense to be practical in that way to work smart and only to the extent you have to. what i was really talking about was in general i see lot of professional…
In theory - yes :) but as tech artist I work with many different projects, files and apps. Having a central place to manage those settings for the apps I use would be awesome. I know there's extensions around for windows file open/save dialogues and you might be even able to make this stuff app specific by looking at…
well I'm no expert but I'd hazard a guess humans are terribly inefficient at generating energy :P. Also feeding humans other dead humans is essentially an infinite loop, like a perpetual motion machine, and impossible without outside energy entering the equation. the sun gives plants energy, they give it to animals and we…
looking good so far, i like how you got a lot of the personality of the concept down in the middle door area. things like the chimney, archway on the right, and piles of junk could use a little more attention in the way you did the middle section. to a certain extent the roof too, but thats not shown on concept so you…
Got most of the level meshed out for class today... some assets never came in so there is more repetition than I would like... but its as close to done as I will be pushing it for this group project. most of the level is blocked in, except the boardwalk and a couple of minor assets all around. Invasion received a week…
http://www.cellfactorgame.com/ Not a gimmik. Highly useable for MP deathmatch as the videos show. Thrown objects, shields, vehicles etc. I have an older Physx development card donated by Aegia. Since I can't use the Reality Engine anymore, I've been using it with the DarkBasic Pro physics extensions. It's amazing for lack…
Well, not to me. It's exactly why I am asking. I do need a lookdev and lighting soft with more or less realt time visual feedback preferably working with GPU render. I use ClarisseFX currently and it takes ages to do final render there . The word "lookdev" is what triggered my attention. Could it be a replacement for…
oh god, just run away as fast as you can! i didnt use it in ages, there is supposedly some big data extension now. but no idea how that is. but back in the day it was so horrible with big files. everybody had to be on the latest version all the time, everything had to be synced. by the time you synced a full level another…
