I agree with ArasTM. Creating a simple blockout always helps. You can adjust the scale, decide on level design and all that stuff before itself. Hence u will save a ton of time in the future and that is how every industry pipeline works ( I am still a student but that is what everybody tells me, hahaha). The Van looks nice…
Sorry for the lack of updates, we have been busy bees these past few months. To sum up the updates: - Ascent won 'games art/playable game' award at uh animation expose 2015 (http://uhanimation.co.uk/expose/). -we are currently in the running for 'game of the year' award on cg student awards 2015 :…
I was around 17/18 and I was doing the same thing, then again for some months when I finally finished university at around age 22?. Don't feel bad about living at home. Like others have said, appreciate the time you have with your family. Helping out around the house seems like a weird suggestion but it helps. I would…
o2car If you want i can export something for you into a format which is readable in Maya...i'm mean maybe only OBJ produces these errors and maybe FBX would work better? Or you could download a student version of Max to do it by your own. The idea with the sperical projection is great! Oh i see you worked on alot…
Hey man thanks heaps for your feedback! As it so happens I've been going to a life drawings, however it's become rather pricey for my student budget at 15$ a session :/ . I'll look into Zack's tutorials for sure! Thanks :) In future I'll attach a mood / reference board and make sure I aim to replicate the source material…
Figure industry entry-level artists make between 30-50k a year. Let's say we're low-balling a college student or someone else who does not have the industry record to demand a high salary, so we'll go with paying this guy at 30k a year. That comes out to about $14.50 an hour. Figure something as complex as a FPS trash can…
@BucketOfNuggets Yeah, I will look into this! I might do a more "original"-pipeline approach similar to my Kappulus Rocks but with a lower the res and no normal maps...maybe? Rocks might feel more fresh (made back when I was a student (2013-2014 somewhere) :) ) Not sure If I want sharp angles on the rock walls thou, but I…
That sounds solid. The price range between 1070 and 1080 is not that bad and I think that it could benefit me more. Then we have the TI, which in fact should be around 30% faster. Or, if I get two 1070 and put them together. I will have to do some real research for these cards have pros and cons. Im a concept artist…
I'm really glad you said that. I haven't done much environment art but I've done a little, and honestly I always wondered why people were getting real concerned over this math stuff. Seemed to me like you just tile things until they look right and that's that. Like, you can just adjust sizes of things interactively and…
Hi, I have some question too about the same topic, more or less. Im student and no teacher knew that motion mixer could work with non biped object. So i made my walk cycle and try to mix it up. 1. even after editing my transition, on of my arm wont follow ( i did add it in the velocity blend) 2. the rig dont seem to want…
