the "underwater" effect only works underwater.. Its done using some sort of screenFX normal which displaces the pixels, and a fake camera sway to increas the effect. Well, going down in res isn't always a bad thing but there are limits. Most of the detailing you will do, just wont down sample if you plan on resizing down a huge ammount, so I would never go over, say, twice the size. As the the pixel density issues, the handle (the leather part) would never be seen... its a sword...? So… -

You are actually right. As the new xps 27 introduced alongside the canvas folds flat on a table, too, I supposed I might support a stylus, but actually it doesn't. I like the size of the cintiq 22 a lot, but I feel like faint sketches just turn into mush when you zoom out. Therefore I'm looking for a bit more pixel density… -

You don't need more than four textures. My example uses hand-painted mask for each of the four layers, only four pixels per meter or so, and hand-sculpted terrain. Hopefully it shows what's possible with limited toolsets. Splat mapping just refers to using two or more textures, tiled across the terrain like normal, but… -
