Layer Groups apply the mask to all the layers within the Layer Group, that is not always the desired result. I wouldn't say smart objects are painful to Ps performance, the only time they are painful is when system resources are weak, web graphics and so forth, any system can handle, obviously 4K images will depending on… -

You can still edit your maps in 2D, of course. :smile: There's a custom mask editing feature in the Suite that will propagate all mask changes to other channels linked to that specific layer. For example, editing a single rust layer's mask via Dynamask custom mask painting will propagate that mask change to the other… -

Thank you guys for the feedback and references. Luckily I started working with layers in Zbrush so I have a wrinkles layer I can dial back the intensity and not mess up my pores details. Also a forms layer where I'll keep adjusting his nose. Thx. Also I think I will go with Doc from the 1885. -

Basically, it's better to spend polygons on the silhouette of your object than it is on the details. That's more noticeable to the player...
