A second thread wasn't needed, a third thread was simply a dick move. This thread is closed. If you want to continue the discussion, the first two threads have been merged here: http://boards.polycount.net/showthread.php?p=1079191#post1079191 For everyone who thinks it is their personal responsibility to mock/create joke…
Hey guys, Thanks for all the comments and crits. I really appreciate it. Heres another update with a materials test. I also finished the modeling phase. I need to tweak the material I know its too reflective I think. Its been giving me some problems so Ill continue to work until I go see Iron Man 2 tonight.
Really nice progression so far gamefactory. I think before continuing that you could make a few minute changes to the face. Don't mind me and this paintover. The nose at the moment is bugging me, looking at the concept there doesn't seem to be a step in the bridge of the nose and ears seems to be a tad big for her jaw. and…
Freeware edition can not be used for commercial. I did find something mentioning ogre exporters and the modifications they made for Neo.. Which implies if not impossible, some loops to "downgrade" to standard ogre specifics. I did do a google search and found a Max 9 exporter. But its so old, and never updated. That it…
It defeinitely looks like a ray distance problem, aye. For complex organic models you should setup a cage in a way that it covers completely the highpoly model. If you find this too complex just continue using uniform ray distances and play a bit with the ray distance until you get a good result... but to get better…
I would try and export the hi-res mesh as a obj, then re-import. (if that fails try fixing the COG in another 3d program) Well you can save your retop wip, just remember to load the original mesh and set it to it when you need to continue on. Most efficient? The resolution seems to be enough. Although managing line flow is…
Nice work m8, great consistent pixel density and the overal ambience works really well. Those statues have a great atmospheric aged bronze quality to them, great to see such continuity between all the assets but thats what comes from either having fewer people working on them or people who can work well together. Look…
yes in theory that may be true, but the track record for games like this is much less than stellar, usualy its a lame game with a license thrown onto it. just to make a buck, because fans will buy it no matter what, true there has been a small amount of really good license games now that was a classic! anyways i hope the…
Joust3D? I worked on that aswell. Atleast, I remember making a highpoly, skeletal looking bird for it. shame I have no shots left of it anymore :( . But my fisrt model was chtulhu quake3, big fun! Awesome talented ppl on that project. My only ppm was for Quake3 called flamer. Man o'mule did the animations for it.…
Speaking as an admin here, we're not in the business of policing people's opinions, no matter how different from our own. If things get too heated and ugly, then we're likely to step in with a light touch on the shoulder, and ask y'all to take a step back, towards civil discourse again. Shouting doesn't "win" anything. If…
