One thing I found useful on digital tutors is their interface breakdowns of new software. Off the top of my head I know Topogun, Marmoset, and 3d-Coat have really short and sweet rundowns. It's great for when you're transitioning from a similar tool and just need to know where the buttons are.
@AutopsySoldier Going to try what you stated now. I use snaps all the time in Maya, they work really well! EDIT: Whenever I click a vertex and press the S button, a big yellow box pops up? Nothing snaps, I will keep trying. I don't see a magnet...
you can do an offset to move it back. There is a button in the motion panel that will offset the biped. Its like the master control. I cant tell you where it is b/c I dont have max on my work machine, but look it up in the help file, and Im sure you'll come accross it.
zapplink seemed to be a pain in the dick to get it working how you want it to, at least it was like that when i used it. Would sometimes generate crazy artifacts if you didn't massage it right. However, when you did get the magic combination of button presses, I fount it far superior to Deep Paint :)
If you drop a new Vertex Paint modifier on the object, bring up the Edit window, and in the bottom right corner, click on the "Condense to Single Layer" button. This will give you access to the controls for tweaking the vertex colors that you already set up, without having to re-paint. Is this what you were going for?
Um it kinda does work the same way...just create an array if you want several objects layed out over it. Amazing video. Im even more awed at the entry now. Someone should make a really indepth video tutorial on marmoset...looks like theres tons of buttons and sliders in there.
I've got a camera control script if you need it (though I know this is easy enough to do). https://dl.dropbox.com/u/15441325/WebPlayer_CB.html I also saw a free viewer out in the webs somewhere that has buttons for switching skins and whatnot, but can't find it anywhere now :P
Looks amazing, I have to disagree with the flat buttons though, I think they'd pop out quite nicely once you get some kind of texture on it. It'd probably make sense to use a color that differs greatly from the rest of the weapon like green or red for example.
Hi, I think legs and torso length is overall OK. The problem is the height of the illiac crest apex. It should be much higher. Pull it all the way up to almost the same height of the belly button. This will make the legs look longer and the torso shorter without changing your overall proportions.
great little program to get your sculpt started in then hit the GoZ button and finish it up in Zbrush... i have to say if this had subtools and layers and possibly a zphere like system in it for rigging / positioning your model i would never open Zbrush maybe in a future release :D
