Hey guys, thanks for the continued feedback. I'd love to get back into Unreal and do some more compositions with these assets in the future. In the meantime, here's a link to the 80lv article and some breakdowns. https://80.lv/articles/creating-mossy-swamplands-in-ue4/
No problem, and thanks for the encouragement. It means a lot to me. I took a look through some of your posts, and I gotta say, that cardboard box came out realy well. Mind if I hit you up in the future for some texturing advice?
Made a little future-ish flashbang for the final showcase renders the pistols going into. med res, med res wires, high-poly. Had a little play with Substance Painter 2s internal Iray rendering, think i still prefer marmoset.
one day we will look back at this thread and be like: remember that time JordanN posted that ugly car and we were like lol. Good times man good times. Thanks for creating these icebreakers for future gdcs. U doing God's work.
To help you prepare for the future, you do know that some of the staff from your course are on here? Calling an assignment shitty on a public forum where the people that may have set that assignment could see you do that isn't terribly clever.
One of my favorite parts of UDK was that when I was studying Game Art in school it was readily available for free. It's really nice to see that future students will have that advantage as well. Excited to see all the great art that comes from the expanded accessibility =]
I couldn't agree more, as soon as everything is created with a simple texture I hope to go over everything that needs a second pass for more detail (not to mention lighting!). Thanks for the kind words everyone, hopefully I won't disappoint with future updates :)
I use blender professionally, and in-industry, I can vouch for its ability to fit in a pipeline, just like any other application. It is the most full-featured and future-proof application outside of going fullprice, and at that state it's just as competitive as any other :)
Very solid work and thanks for sharing I know it can be nerve wrecking posting your work sometimes. Future textures in the works? I know Zbrush has polypainting, don't know if your instructor has limits for this project. Nice work.
Here's something new, its a ZBrush sketch of the main character for the game I want to make in the future, maybe I'll make a new thread dedicated only to the game itself. Probably I will change her because this is the first idea we will see...
