this. if you have a team working together, someone will have to take the lead in defining the style and ensuring it is maintained. you can write fancy documents all you want, people tend to not read the manuals. somebody has to keep the watchful eye. i find this very important when it comes to say differences in texturing…
Definately will, I'm just curious if there's anyone here who's done it before or could offer some tips about how to go about it. Should I negotiate the price relative to other distributors? How should I pitch it to them? That sort of thing. Also if anyone has done it through youtube and knows how to publicize the videos…
I'm anticipating the hair work. Modeling looks great overall, and if you're planning to go to game res, I'd love to see you document your work; I'm sure it will be a lot of fun to review. What I like most is the clear differentiation of materials, even at the sculpt stage. The various fabrics are clearly defined, and the…
I wouldn't get too caught up in the badges of defining your art role until you've made some art and found out what you really enjoy doing. Once you figure that out, look for the hard road and follow it...look at the artist you admire and emulate them, ask them questions, ask them for feedback..etc
looking at the concept, i was kinda expecting the thighs to be a lot bigger than they currently are... Someone like Nicole Mejia might be good reference for this i think: In particular, there's a lack of defined s-curve on the inside of the thigh on your model, and the crown of the femur could come out a bit. The concept…
Thank you for the kind comment! Below are a few snapshots of my diffuse in progress: I still have a ways to go--mainly getting those highlights in place to sell the different materials, and really solidifying where my light source is coming from. I wanted to first tackle getting the base colors laid out and defining most…
on the matter of beer, There is nothing else like an in house bitter. American beer is good, but I treat it more as a soft drink than anything alcoholic. it's a known that when you go to any GOOD local pub, the meal will almost definately be a pie and a pint. The trouble is, the are more and more of these ponced up wino…
Nice work morte, you've made excellent progress with this character. I think you could still spend a lot more time working on his hands though, as they still appear very soft and undefined. It might help you to first block out the forms into simple shapes (rectangles for the fingers etc.) and concentrate on the gesture…
u need to add another loop below the chest to define his upper body more. and u should also model finger on the hand with extrudes first and shape it after. when ur happy with the shape duplicate it and weld it back onto the hand. as for the shoulder pad u could add a shell modifier. and just wondering what is the reason…
Well I'm going off my experience with Source here, but I'd say either use a lot of chamfers to smooth stuff out, or use separate smoothing groups. You do get a seam, but depending on your texture size it usually isn't visible. With the smoothing errors you have now it doesn't have any hardness or defined surfaces. (imho) :P
