From Find Law: "Theft/larceny is typically defined as the taking of almost anything of value without the consent of the owner, with the intent to permanently deprive him or her of the value of the property taken. Most states recognize degrees of theft, such as "grand" or "petty," which usually relate to the value of the…
It looks fantastic, but there's just one thing to point out. A big part of the forerunner tech and architectural style is a really defined, block look. In your render, the edges look very soft, and the textures dull. Try sharpening the textures up, making some higher contrasting areas (without too much) and sharpening the…
the problem with the plant arent the leaves (leaves look good) but the vases looks very high poly. hard to say without a wireframe but thats where i'd start optimizing. 3300 tris is definately too much for a propr like that. also the stones dont need to be seperate 3d meshes, you can just have a slightly displaced plane…
The colors are mostly brown in ur scene, ur ref has more variation as the guy above me said. i.e. the ceiling has another color than the wall. The inscriptions on the wall are also painted on an extra layer on top of the bricks. Atm it's just a decal stamped on those bricks. The trim between the ceiling and the wall is…
Trippy ;) Good stuff though. Would be cool to see some more defined mood and cohesion. Perhaps do a quick paint over in Photoshop. Quick and dirty and see if you can improve the overall piece. Colors, contrast, focus points, mood, lighting. Maybe lower the bloom and dust particles. So you are forced to get the basic stuff…
very interesting! great result! I saw the mention of using vertex colours to define where the four textures go, so theres only ever 4 variations on each object? and is that done in engine or in mari or 3dsmax or something? Eventually all of this stuff done with materials on that pump is baked down to diffuse, normal,…
The lighting is really playing a strong role in this. I think the key here is getting a studio lighting rig, and then playing with the mat settings. It looks like there is quite a bit of diffusion on the original mat. Play around with the albedo as well. EDIT: The reference image has quite a more defined surface, I would…
The most simple way is to have the TV body as one material, and the screen as another material that you can set up the content from. Alternatively just know where your TV screen is in texture coordinates, make sure there's some sort of mask for it, then scale and move the tv content texture as needed in the material, and…
Thanks for your replies ! @tottot/chris : I used an alpha from one of my sculpt to do these slight elevations. In this way, I can control the intensity of details. I used the mallet fast 2 brush and the flatten brush to do this alpha. Sometimes I can use a mask to define my general form. I added more color variations :
Small Wip, Not sure where i wanna go with the level of polish on that one. So I'll kept it WIP and move on to other piece, I think the rest will help me define him more. ( I wanna paint the stitch on the scarf put not sure i want more detail on the penguin itself ) Can someone guess my wonderland ? :3
