Currently when I use 1.8, it's super slow to add a material to a single color ID. Like, I could tab out and browse Reddit for awhile. Is that process much faster now ?? Because I hate clicking a few buttons then wait. That's why I switched to Substance.
haha, ya the hair makes turnaround pics awkward so I always have to drop it :( the buttons/laces are both sculpted and polypainted. They're that badass;) He does in fact have a sweet-ass sword I just don't want to show it until it's a little more finished.
I've worked with at least two engines over the last year that require water-tight models for proper lighting. I don't really see it as a nightmare (keeping the few hidden faces didn't seem to kill the performance, and its at least one-less button press to not delete them)
Are you talking about the 3D Paint Tool? It's located under the Rendering workspace > Texturing > 3D Paint Tool. In the tool settings, near the bottom, there is an Assign/Edit Textures button which will allow you to paint directly to your model after establishing an image format, resolution, etc.
@Odow , it's a beta ... export features are pretty different from core editing features. Even in this early stage I'd say it is pretty damn usable, especially since loading and saving are already fully functional. Printscreen is just a button away, and there are also dedicated screen capture apps out there !
3D Coat is amazing because you can press a button and open up the UV or the 3D view in Photoshop and do stuff right on the model or UV map. [ame=" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hg5XI5dGnZY"]3D-Coat - Direct Pixel Paint - Photoshop Projection - YouTube[/ame]
I use it myself to create buttons and widgets sometimes that I then use in UE4. As you mention, the non-destructive workflow is perfect for that, especially for iterating on color and adding quick effects. :) You can even try to bake lighting information by using a normal map and the light node, etc.
Doing everything in Bone Tools. First click near the belly button, then clicked at the femur top, then knee, heel, toe. Mirrored this. I guess I should be creating the pelvis/sacrum bone first? Then select this and Create Bones to start chain for the hip/femur/tibia/heel/toe?
Well just look up the basics, its easy to use. Just gotta press the button with the sparkles in BP mode, set the texture size you want and paint on it. Its great to make seams dissapear after you made a classical texture in photoshop btw with the stamp tool.
Hey there Paul, i love the idea bout the button sheild, my son wants a warhammer type sword but perhaps it will have to become a needle and thread to go with the sheild. Also thanks for the other crits, very helpfull and use them as soon as i can get back to this :) . tim
