Been mucking about with this and I have to say it's very neat. I never used the default mask generators; I found it much more useful to add my curve/ao as fill layers with levels on top or in between. This is simple enough to be powerful and also useable. Good stuff. -

Is it possible your storage HDD shuts down to conserve power? That would subsequently cause your computer to wait several seconds for the HDD to spin back up before being able to write to disc. Although you'd probably experience the same issue across all of your software. -

Awesome visual style you have going! Loving everything about it. For your latest creature, you could have the jump and hover (flying) form part of the spit attack, especially if the spit attack is particularly powerful. Because the creature forms a nice targettable silhouette when in the air. -

how about a vehicle of some sort. cars, boats, whatever. power tools tend to have some pretty obscure shapes and can be really fun to model. and of course theres always a ton of things within the realm of scifi to tackle. various props, helmets, architectural structures etc. -

It's absolutely a normal map issue. Diffuse Power is only enhancing the effect. Yes depends on the texture, I guess it's less of a problem for flat normal maps. You can however use sharpened MipMaps (Texture Properties -> Mip Gen Settings -> Sharpen10) to exaggerate artifacts for testing purposes. -

well duh a portable crank powered gatling gun as that would fit the period or a naval cannon yaeh I checked gatling gun has popped as a suggestion earlier than my suggestion but I'm still hell-bent on one class like the Soldier getting a 1850s cannon -

Cool i never knew that. I knew that the phoenix was the guardian of some stone or something that was all powerful and who ever had possession of it would rule the galaxy but it was cast into the sun so they didn't need the phoenix anymore something like that right or did i just strike out? -

OMG! them azns gonna change our wimmins! like anyone of you would be saying anything of the about changing Lara into a brown and grey, muscle bound, power armor weilding, same 10 weapons using for the last 15 years stereotype if id or someone bought eidos. -

Noise is ok here on a 280, case fans are louder anyway. The card is beastly powerful and hasn't had problems with any game so far (I can max everything). btw, do consider custom building your desktop instead of giving a premium to Dell or worse, Alienware.
