Been loving this guy for a while now... (the model not the guy); how many different materials are you using for him? Obviously you've got diffuse, normal and spec, but is there anything else going on, like emmisive or schmancy sss-related stuff?
Very nice model, just work a little on the diffuse and the spec a bit and you'll be good:) You need to define the material a bit more and set some highlights here and there because it looks abit boring at the moment. Best regards, ToxiQ
MS did the right thing when forcing certain hardware minimum specs. That will help a lot in the app(game) development process. MS is pretty open about handing out those development phones for (some) devs, so that's cool.
Day 3, * specular and specular roughness maps - done. Something happened to Mari lighting, so now there is little difference between basic and full lighting. I'll try to fix it tomorrow and preview drone with all the spec and bump maps.
Yes. The base material is metal. I also wanted the red to be painted metal. I need to work on the scratches more. Yes I do have spec. Only B/W. Need to work on that too. Racer is amazing, yes.
Update on the texture. I'm calling the diffuse done (aside from any crits of course), and i'm moving on to the spec to complete it. I'm also going to change the color of the blue lights to white, keeping the glow blue to give it a florescent look.
So i got "tier 1" baked down and slapped down some basic values and spec. Starting off textures tommorrow and after that progress on this guy might slow down a bit due to being busy once again :(
ha, thanks guys, forgot to unhide the forks! Ye ill look into the brushed aluminium, had a brief go, but found it really hard to get right. I guess low gloss, blurre reflections, mid spec as a rough start?
Ah I see! Unfortunately I didn't change the export target under UE4 hence I mistakenly made spec/gloss maps  I've made the changes and everything is working fine now, thank you!
Sticking with the 560GTX is a good idea but it makes me wonder what your current specs are. I don't know much about the current CPUs but knowing this can help others comment about the performance increase/price ratio better.
