There there. The concept isn't that original, many have used the burning angel-wing thing. But it suits the character. Oh and, I've spent too many characters in the same boring front-view pose so I'll try to mix it up in future works.
Thanks for all these tutorials, Man. Seriously, they're wonderful, and I'm learning loads. And just for future reference, you can properly display those normals in Maya by changing from "Right Handed" tangent space to "Left handed, in the Attribute editor:
Love this thread and hope to see more great concepts in the future! Here's a couple you're welcome to model in 3D partially or fully for your portfolio, to sell, etc. Keep up the excellent work, you talented modellers ;) Best regards, Gavin
Currently the one way to get it to "glow" is to use the bloom post effect, which is found in the per-camera post effect settings. We don't do a separate pass just for emissive (though this is something me may consider adding in the future).
Ok well setting it at subdiv 2 seemed to do the trick. Still though for future reference what is the best way to go about making sure that my low poly model in maya receives the proper detail from the normal map?
I have email the files ,It took me a while to produce the same error. This tool is great i just tested it out . The normal map this tool has created seems as its baked inside Maya. In future is this going to be free software?
aaaaaaaand mostly done. Or done. Depends on whether I want to go back and screw around with the shirt and cigarette again. This one was a joy to work on though, so I'll definitely do a couple more like this in the near future. Lotsa fun.
Steam Link Here We have Officially released Miscreated (Alpha) on Steam Early Access, we have lots of plans ahead for future features, Craftables and Weapons should be fun! PS. Steam Image is there because it looks cool :P
like this scene a bunch. cant wait to see more. As far as critique I cant say much that hasn't been said, id have to agree about the UVs mostly. Love the sculpt style.(right click save as future ref!)
Hi Mant1k0re Thanks for the feedback, We have talked about doing Houdini On-line in the past but the demand has to be high for us to do at the moment. I will pass that on as I know it is something we would love to do in the future Thanks Simon
