Personally, I'd stick with Intel. Reviews comparing those chips are pretty common, so I'd do your research. The 3rd link is particularly interesting. FX8350 Review CPU Heirarchy Chart Anandtech FX Series Review
First ever attempt at sculpting out the muscles, i used a muscle chart to make sure i was somewhat accurate. They don't really need to be well defined but the shape of muscles needs to be visible when its wearing a shirt.
Leaves rely on having a good SSS or translucency shader, which will depend on what engine you are working with. Bark is like any other PBR material, try to find the correct albedo value from charts and it will be very rough.
I (along with most artist) prefer Hansoft. Visualizing burndown charts and dependencies are really nice, because artists and animators work in a pretty linear fashion, making this quite simple. Programmers and Project Managers seem to prefer Jira.
Some engines use a kind of compression on UV coordinates which means if you have huge UV charts then you'll get inaccuracies (stretching and warping) at the extremities. Of course the best way to test this is to check your work in-game.
Thanks for the feedback I'll update this after I fix it. As for the body reference I've not used a chart and was doing things by sight (like alt-tab back and forth with reference) which I now know is the wrong way of doing it thanks!
Yep, if you are going for brushed metal look you need to make the silver part dark grey on your diffuse, and make it lighter on the metalness map. You're really going to get a better result by doing that, refer to this chart for pbr
An interesting sum up of one viewpoint of current thinking, sourcing a lot from the geological record: http://www.geocraft.com/WVFossils/Carboniferous_climate.html I'm sure it's not the only perspective out there with a ton of pretty graphs and charts to back them up though.
it was a fair while back, a 3rd person rpg who's selling point was it took the piss out of rpgs made references to creatures dropping gold and other nonsensical items, heavily stereotyped characters and stuff like that i think it bombed in the charts ringing any bells?
