if you want to paint on the highpoly then probably yes. i don't think it's capable of projecting everything you paint from a highpoly to the lowpoly with the final UVs in realtime. it might very well be possible to bake from a highpoly to a retopoed lowpoly and get it all in a layered psd as a result, but i dont bake… -

Nah, you're fine. The highpoly mesh doesn't need to have UVs at all. It's only the low-poly mesh where the UVs matter. You can bake off of any object, or any number of objects, UVs or not. The only time UVs on the highpoly matter is if you're baking the highpoly's textures into a lowpoly. But I never personally had to do… -

@purehilarityWhen you for example Scan a Treebark, you will get a Cylindrical HighPoly in AgiSoft. You can load this HighPoly in Max. Then you can create a LowPoly Cylinder which fits the HighPoly Agi Cylinder. Make your UVs so that the 0-1 Space is completely filled. When you now bake you will get Non-Tileable maps :) -

Yes, a reprojection is done for when you want to keep using this highpoly mesh for something directly, like animation. You basically fix the topology of your highpoly mesh to be better. Display layers are a whole other story and shouldn't be mixed in to your scene… -
