I agree that viewing distance will obviously matter. But I do want the picture to be the highest quality possible. Especially when I'm going to be spending 130 dollars on a print :)

I picked up a canon 28-135 IS for dirt cheap on ebay - it was a refurb, but seemed perfectly okay. Not the greatest lens in the world but was really useful for me.
I never heard of this. I resized the imaged to this: which has a height and a width of 88px and 136px. So: (88 * 136) / 4 => about 3k. Is this correct??
Can you try a graphicall build ? http://www.graphicall.org/103 i just tested with this and works.Howerver i know some don't trust this graphicall builds etc. so it's on you.
