definitely decals for this. However it should be said that bsp's are not best practice anymore. For essentially everything except the source engine, model it. You can do much more, and it will prform better in engine.
Dumping some older stuff here. I'm starting to regret having stopped for so long :( This one was done as practice a long time ago for a Sea Creature weekly challenge on Conceptart.org
Just a random hypothetical question to everyone participating in this: Even though there isn't a stated poly limit, what would you say would be the most practical or rational poly limit for this scene?
This screams the 3d motive tutorial its good to get practice with but i would be hesitant to put in portfolio since it looks like you just copied the tutorial. Good execution tho
It's my final color version, heh. It took many efforts to me to draw :# I hope in future I'll practice drawing more.. and my next lol contest will go better.
I think it's pretty bold that this game is practically a new ip. I say, "Why not?" Separate note: Who else felt like a more BA Boba Fett watching that trailer?
Awesome - i love this style ! Defiantly want to practice this kind of style and stuff ;) Great work guys, ill buy the game - when iam done with my bachelor thesis :D
It's not an issue, quite a common practice :) So long as, if you're using normal maps, the engine can cope with mirrored UVs (almost any engine you use today will be able to manage).
Wow, really nice materials, I love the welded steel and copper. What a great and easily comparable way of practicing materials, Im definitely going to give something similar a try
You need a portfolio. The Job I have been doing for an extremely long time is practically pointless for most positions. Why I hope to get a position in a studio or do freelance !
