the face turned out really nice! i love the transparency on the toga thing... thats great. The lower body turned out pretty sweet too only glaring things: her stomach "tummy" area seems a tad too dark, pretty much from the underline of the breasts to her bellybutton. Anatomically, the breasts seem too close together, but…
I don't either and you're absolutely right. Most of the time it seems to just be some silly shader requirement. In some cases (generally wood with coatings or rubber/plastics) you DO need to separate them as those materials pick up a soft diffused white "specular" highlight and thus look bad with much of a cubemap…
The edge loops around the eyes are fine but the ones around the mouth are going to deform weird if animated. Since most low-poly free-to-play MMOs contain all the facial animation of of a dead maniquin that's not really the biggest concern. What I was mostly trying to point out is that the way you have the bottom of the…
I always have this conversation internally. But since life is based on motion and motion is time. But time can be infinitely subdivided. I also believe expereince is partially subjective as objective peoples reasoning breaks down in the face of Quantum Phyics. Especially the idea of superposition. So going back on track…
Thanks for the input, but it didn't work for me. The only thing that even helps for 'self illuminated' slot in my models is when I enable AO + Soft Shadows, if I don't do that, my models won't even work with the self illuminate. My temporary fix is to use Star.fx Post Process, and maybe couple it with Xiouli's Post shaders…
I'll take a crack at it and put a slightly different spin on it with an eye for fewest seams possible. I squared off the lower waist part and the cuffs, I also mirrored the sleeves which could probably arranged uniquely but you might be able to get away with them mirrored, it all depends on how it looks. I would probably…
Admittedly it was on US TV show but I still don't get the need for anyone to blur anything. Ass cracks, nipples, even cleavage gets the blur treatment these days. It just brings attention to it! Boobies are the devils work son! Don't look at the boobies...here I'll hid them under this blur for you...there much better, you…
Hey guys, i have a problem regarding normalmap extraction in Mudbox. As you can see on the picture, there's a ugly seam going all the way down the middle. I actually exported half the model to mudbox, and used that to bake my normals, as i've heard mudbox doesn't really like overlapping UVs. I have a feeling that this has…
Great job, looks awesome. You can't tell it wasn't done by Valve themselves. I can't remember if it was a part of the contest you could change or not but the only point I'd like to raise is that the lighting feels a bit washed out in places, like there are few hard shadow, darker areas, contrasting light etc. it's mostly…
frubes - Nope, disagree. Lowering samples till the lighting is right is quicker and more intutive than rendering out seperate passes to manipulate in Photoshop. The thing is to get it looking right in the first place and with the out of the box render the result is more natural. You mentioned multiplying ao as the law, you…
