This one is not an art thief. This one is just a kid who downloads finished models from Daz 3D's website, modifies it a bit and claims that he created it to impress the girls. We are just making fun of him for doing so. <.<
Oooh damn... I was modifying that ankle thing a lot yesterday and finally got it to look somewhat appropriate. But I guess I forgot to turn the knee as well... <.< Well. Bad stuff happens, What are you gonna do? :)
For modeling Max or SoftImage over Maya (the workflow is fine, but its toolset is more limited for modeling purposes). If given the choice when it came to asset creation I'd use Max because its toolset is vast, and modifiers are awesome.
dagObjectHit http://tech-artists.org/forum/showthread.php?419-popUpMenu-mel-notes-quot-dagObjectHit-quot example showing right click viewport feedback but the same could be done with modifiers only. (without clicking on the highlighted component)
Thank you mate, I fixed my UV maps to become really neat and clean without any distortion and I set it inside SP to UV projection instead of UV planar projection and modified it. Thanks anyway :)
Create a new material set it to wire, change diffuse color to black (or whatever). Clone the mesh, apply the material and a push modifier to bump it out just a hair and render. There are other more complicated ways but that's the simplest I've found.
Add and Edit Normals modifier> select all normals> Unify(this will bake the normals) If you haven't already got baked normals then you can select all faces> polygon:smoothing group rollout> clear all and set a number
Yeah; I'd also like to know how this topic progresses! @renderhjs If you can embed flash sliders in 3dsmax now, could you make interfaces based on flash for controlling modifiers in 3dsmax. For example thumbnails for morphtargets?
amisima: how do you use mudbox to change vertex order? i agree that vertex order is the most likely cause and easy to terst using the morph modifier. you can fix it in max using the morphix script.
Was able to work on it a little today with the advice given. A few things I still want to modify next are the butt / chest and legs. I should stop going into details as i'll be retopo'ing it to make it a poseable mesh. Crits welcomed!
