It's not the tiling I'm worried about. It's masking out parts of one brick texture to blend with another. I know I can take care of the tiling with decals and grunge masks. The first pic in my recent post just shows how I blended a mask with 2 textures. I just want to be able to define where that mask is on the model.
KazeoHin: Thanks! I'm definitely going to try and do more stuff out of my comfort zone. I was looking at my portfolio and there's a lot of hard surface stuff in there so I need to practice modelling different things. Quick update on the head, I retopo'd it and tried to define the planes more, especially around the eyes.…
Overall the lights just seem way too bright. I'd expect candlelit places use a lot of low level lighting at high exposure levels. That or you can fill with ambient light that's at a cooler light color, and make the candles fill the areas with warmer more defining light. Of course, that all depends on the art style of your…
I was one of the people who got in to this and I absolutely believe smaller projects with clearly defined deadlines are the way to go when you're starting out. Being able to know when to call things done is a skill you have to learn because in a studio you will sometimes have to make the best thing possible in a short…
its unlikely you'll be allowed. most forums don't allow it. so long as your names readable just stick with it. the way you act and the art you make will define you not some shitty internet nickname I also doubt mods will want anything to do with this. Once one person gets the change lots of others will start asking.
Damn Vig, you got a weird sense of proportion. The proportions her hips and ribs are in now are a lot more natural. I agree with MoP that the shoulders are a little too big but that's about it. Vig, no offense, but your adjustment to the pic is way too skinny. Freakishly skinny. Her knees could use some more tweaking to…
Vig- great ideas there from your friend Frosty- if you get no beeps, its definately the cpu or mobo, or it could be a rail on the psu , but if you tryed 2 , i doubt it .... there are 2 power cables you have to plug in , you putting them both in right ? a 4 pin and a 16 pin i think. Its most likely the mobo
At first I thought, "wow, playing Doom inside of Doom3...big deal". But actually reading articles here http://www.battleteam.net/tech/fis/docs/index.html gives you a good idea of what they're trying to explain. some really good idea for uses. Definately more interactive than the useless images found on in game screens.
better. definately looking better. you can reduce your polycount greatly by taking unnecessary edges out of the ear muffs. you can keep the same shape without them. while your character is very rounded in shape, the shoes are too boxy. round them out to be consistent. like boots. keep them flat with the ground.
holy crap its swoma!!! lol ok this is cool overall but the muscles are really blobby, you should take this into zbrush and sculpt some of those muscles out, get some more defined shapes. also lower the spec on the flesh, right now it looks about as shiny as that metal, it almost looks as if the guy is made out of the same…
