Re: Is there an advantage to having dual vid cards?
From what I've read, only SLI compatible games use the power of two video cards, it's not like you get exactly double the speed, the software has to work with the hardware. I'm wondering if the performance boost will work with maya, zbrush, etc etc. -

Hahaha, yeah I've seen that, love the point they were able to get across in a couple minutes, simple but powerful. It's only a matter of time, those that are still rooted in the old ways are still alive and still have vote, so yeah, only a matter of time. :) -

Check out the specs of the unit then just get a suitable power addapter. Cold Cathodes can be either 12v or 5v if memory serves but the amp rating varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. A decent amprage multi volt adapter should be all you need. -

not everyone can run around in a jungle on some tropical island killing korean millitary while wearing some super powerful armor suit that lets you do all kinds of neat stuff.. that said yes crysis does look quite nice. -

that's amazing! especially since it supplies its own power and that of neighboring buildings. at first i thought: what a waste of energy just to have a nice and everchanging view, but then i read a little more about it. very cool! i'd love to see that come true! -

Yea on that kind of hardware you're almost always better off with no lighting (everything full bright) and painting/baking in your lighting. Unless it plays some kind of important game play mechanic role, its better to use the processing power on something else. -

You can do it without projection master. Hold control and select the area you want to flatten. Inverse the mask and then go to Tools -> Deformations -> Flatten. You should experiment with some of the other deformations too, you'd be surprised what a powerful and underused technique it is. -

Yeah shep you're right as were the others, i altered that and it looks a lot better now. Powering through the bake now, the hours are melting away. Still a few bits left to do and plenty of cleanup to keep me busy for the next day or two.
