See that's what I'm saying. Marcus looked like a fun character to do and I felt like doing a stylized character from one of my favorite games. For my next human project I will definitely go for realistic and get all the anatomy down.
Why dont you use vertex colors for the rusting?i mean like r=0--> painted, r=1-->rusted or something like this.then you could paint where you want rust, and where not.it would be a lot more customizable and realistic.
A couple things to do still, went with more realistic hair as the geometric didn't fit with the rest of the character. I may try to add some more color variation to the armor and then comes the dreadful posing! Thanks everyone for your feedback and any more will be very welcome!
i actually tend to avoid making it ultra sharp for the same reason, and for realistic sake... and well with cage and without it i get the same result... also how can i improve the edge jaggines of my lowpoly models without altering their form too much?
So does anyone have any techniques, brushes etc which would be suitable for doing this style of art? I am totally lost on how to start something like this, I have looked at hand painted tutorials on youtube but they are mostly semi realistic looking.
That thing right there, They can't beat the sensation of seeing realistic dinosaurs on the big screen for the first time ever when jurassic park hit the cinemas, that was revolutionary. I'm just hoping the movie has sensible pacing and good characters, shouldn't be too hard right, right? ;(
@RakibHasan Thanks! Glad you like it! @Cersei_Lannister Thanks! Nothing compared to your emotion-filled Manticore, though :) @Spoon Thanks, hopefully it'll be when it's finished as well! Today I added organic, realistic horns with details and touched the mask slightly; Cheers, Ty
something about the shading looks kinda weird on the car doesnt it? that mega mesh thing looks more realistic and promising. Maybe these guys need to attract some game developer to actually make something cool with the tech instead of the crappy programmer art vids they have
I'd love to see any themed competition -- brawl or otherwise. And i also agree with keeping realistic current production in mind, i.e. limit on textures and tri's. dunno if it's feasible but would be cool if the challenge went beyond concept and production, but included rigging and animation as well.
This is well done, that atmosphere & lighting really help make this look realistic & add nice depth. Keep up the work paying attention to that grass. I think you should have some dead grass / dirt for around the rocks with the pond. Water looks great!
