They didn't get the liscence for the DandD ruleset - so its set in a different world with a modified combat system. It's more of a spiritual successor to BG than an actual sequel. -

It seems legit though Why? There's no reason for that unless it renders everything on a remote system. Same as there is no reason for HL2 to phone home. At least none I care about.
