Try to use slope blur node to fake edge erosion and height/ slope variations in a copy of bricks generator to make color variations . Or flood fill node.

well ... i guess the name tells itself if this is set to true, a "new" GPU code path for viewport/mouse hit detection gets used, otherwise this would be done by some legacy CPU code.
