Well the software tweeks I did didn't work. I ended up taking out the tip (nip) out of my stylus with a set of pliers and put it back in. I set the software settings back to default and it stopped lagging like it used to so it seems to be all set. Later. Alex Alex -

I have just finished texturing the drone. I think I liked the word Drone better than Droid since drone can refer to a worker bee No Spec, just default spec in Max, with some dynamic lighting. Wilex, are you who I think you are? heh heh :poly124: -

I use the same size as under the soruce engine. With the soruce engine you have comon size : a wall = 128*128 unit, etc. -

Looks to me to be something Nitrous related. 3ds max updated their viewport engine in 2012 and something that is on by default now is the "2 light" option in the viewport. + > configure viewports > Lighting and Shadows Tab > use the 1 light option. See if that does anything. This honestly doesn't look like a smoothing… -

Yeah I couldn't find anything on multiple meshes there either, which is why I defaulted to just posting the link. I'm pretty sure I read somwhere that you can have multiple meshes as long as they are bound to a single heirarchy. But I wonder how that would affect the shading..that is if they are intersecting meshes. -

Hey Brad, I think the only thing that bugged me was that it defaulted to Quick View rather than Gallery view on my PC. It seems more of an inconvenience to me to have to scroll through that large list rather than simply click each image. Personal preference of course. Cool stuff though. -

When you hit any of the default hotkeys T or F or B they point you at the world center, they don't remember their last position. Autodesk added a "Save Active View" function, but it requires you to explicitly save the view before you leave it, then explicitly load that save if you want it again. Cheap. -

Scoobz design = WIN! Its very soft and nice to look at. IMO the old designs have always been little rough and harsh on the eye, i even use some pastel blue forum design because the default is very hard on my eyes. But then again maybe im not hard core enough. -

Nice model, but I am so not a fan of the trend to make the face much higher res than the rest of the model. I know, I know, that's what UTk4 defaults to, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Otherwise, cool model, I have no other crits that haven't already been addressed. -

Yep...that normal map looks like something out of the Nvidia normal map filter....not even made...just processed through with default settings.... The color itself needs some interesting wear and scratch along edges....get a flaked version of the actual gun would help... The model itself isn't bad.
