How do we actually know which ones are 1m and which 2m and up? (without checking the details on the surface in render). Can you also please clarify whether Megascans Studio is supposed to to create 2x2 and up from 1m surfaces? wondering if the functionality is broken or what else. Thanks for the reply.
@cmgillet... Glad you liked this release. We've been working closely with our games customers to add functionality specific for next-gen games workflows. You will be seeing a lot more games published with Mari this year. I'm happy to answer any questions you guys might have about Mari.
You shouldn't need to change software to get this to work. What are you using now? Blender? I don't know the Blender term for reset xform(Max)/freeze transformations(Maya) but there must be something equivalent to those functions. Try that and triangulate before exporting to xnormals, that seemed to help in that other case…
i've used Mari for a while now, i got a killer discount from a sales rep. strongly considdering updating to the new version. as for 3dcoat... well, 3dcoat does have "some" of the functionality of Mari, but Mari was designed for the movie industry before the games industry. i've found the tools it has to be very robust.
Hello, unfortunately we do not have a shortcut key to pause/play turntable preview, but that is a good idea. We do not have an organized list of available keyboard shortcuts at this time but you can check the top menu, all functions up there which have a keyboard shortcut have the shortcut listed. Thanks
I work for a company which isn't a video game company but we make simulations (serious games) and we are looking for a fulltime 3d generalist. The main job function is creating models and animations for use inside of Unity3d or our inhouse simulation software. I'd like to post the job here, would that be ok?
I installed a win7 upgrade recently, if your C: is at all function and there is a trace of windows on it, you can start up the setup on another drive. I actually just took an old drive that I had laying around, threw it in, installed 7 on sdd, took old drive out. Worked flawlessly.
it'll also be about familiarity: if you happen to work with UE all day long, chances are you will know about all sorts of not so obvious functionality and tweaks to make stuff look really nice and comparable to or even better than what toolbag can give you out of the box with no fuss.
They can come up with Modo 11 all they want, but why would modo not allow me to copy the UI im working in, rename it and customize it to anyway i want ? For now you cant copy a default window and rework it. You have to rebuild it from scratch and can sometimes not function like the original.
There is currently no way to make a loop in a function graph. It is not easy to find a way to setup a proper graph layout to allow for that (we can't allow "graph loops"). Also, we would need a way to check for infinite loops in advance in order not to lock the CPU or GPU in case the user sets up a loop incorrectly.
