I tell you what, if Cryptic ever released their editors (even just the fx editor) to the public I'd jump right on it. Being uber-rusty with UEd2 and just getting started with learning UE3's fx system has me at a bit of a disadvantage for doing my own stuff at the moment. Biggest things that come to mind from my experience…
UDK doesn't have the best shadow solutions, so unless you really bleed your system dry with some really uber .ini settings, I would say avoid any type of half lambert setup to fake the SSS. Instead, just make a standard Lambert, use a Lerp to 'push' forward the Lambert shadow values (but make them red instead with a mask)…
The free Ipad ZBrush version apparently can´t export so it is just a viewer at best. If you want a Sculpting program on Tablets with a perpetual license, try out Nomad. https://nomadsculpt.com/
have you checked all your lights (SHADOW option) or you just have one, i ran into issues and lights were usually the issue or even the HDRI at one point for me, also play with shadow offset settings, i heard fixes some oddities. trying to do the quick help attempt here for you, but hopefully they come around for you with a…
It's not only that. It starts from just very first interaction you have with the software: an open/save dialog. Blinding white against dark interface, ancient , no favorite folders. Then it's the main screen littered with separate windows and useless panels like it's still Windows 3.1 . Confusing shortcut override system.…
Or your on your own vs both... lets see where have I played that before. Super powered suit. Military guys trying to clean up an alien invasion, and anyone that knows about it. Aliens attacking anything human. Hero caught in the middle who does what armies on both sides can't do, cleans up the mess. I can think of 30-40…
i would add more cambered corners, and swooping curves, would be far more exciting to race, it is very flat at the mo, a bit like mario kart in style. hard to fit into the design of the crystal palace but would be worth it. I make alot of drivable surfaces at work and i love playing with shapes to make them fun, try…
Hey, nice to see the progress! Maybe reducing the fog thickness and adding some local vfx can also help with this and give more control on specific areas. I think the concrete structure above the floor level could use more variation and details, maybe leaking with low roughness, mold in crevices. Everything looks bit dry…
A quick tip if you try all these constraint modes. Many use the Distortion Center position (cx/cy). By default this is set to the center of the screen, but you can change it by using a keyboard shortcut, that you can change in the settings. Remember that this point is stored in SCREEN space, not canvas space. LNP does not…
Are there any gaming artists on here who have completed professional work? I need to interview a gaming artist for a college project and I'm running out of time. It's due at the end of this week. I'm asking all over the place so the first guy I asked gets back to me I will use his. This post/cry for help is insurance. I…
