I think there's a few scripts around that can take a heightmap from World Machine and apply it to a terrain chunk.

Maya never had an inset tool (extrude offset doesn't count), but an inset script came out recently.

Hmmm... A friend wrote a script to export out UVs and import as a PSD path layer so imagine it's possible.

check your Gizmos tab in customize/preferences? edit,actually if SyncV's script didnt work then this is probably not the problem,
