Short introduction... I'm 32, been married 7 years and have 2 lovely kids... I live in the US, Anaheim CA to be exact. My pretty much one and only hobby for the last 2+ years has been NDS homebrew development. I'm a pretty decent C coder at this point, but I'm an absolutely awful 2D artist. I've recently begun a journey…
If some people think it will be useful, I will upload it. There is a chance that I will be baking some radiosity into all my textures for the next project. This script does this: Select your object It clones it, hides the original Takes the clone and breaks it up into objects based on the material ID (so I would get head,…
Latest showreel! I will eventually like to get a lot of the still shots near the end into actual environments/videos. The Viking pieces are my current works and will have my attention for the next few months until I graduate. Let me know what you think :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-XdVPgYz2g&feature=youtu.be
Hey man nice work with this character. There are definitely some crits and issues to be addressed with future projects, so I'll try and describe the most significant ones below. The first issue, and most possibly the most important, is to have a clear design goal. I read that this was a re-design inspired by other fan art…
It can be fixed in zbrush later on but changing the for to much might mean you have to retopologies the model later on try and get the form as close to what you want as you can, it could save you alot of work later on. because if you get it right then all you will have to do is bake the norms and textures onto this model.…

Also baking give you clean bevels on your mesh and makes it so that the various surfaces interact with light better. If you need the geo for a curve or protrusion that should stay but small bevels…
Yep, some sort of Indian/Arabian something or other. Sukotto: Yeah, I'm making a sword as well. I did a quick paintover before I got started so I could use it as a guide. Here's the concept/paintover: And I've been doing a bit of retopo and baking. These are just unlit screens: Still just base colors and some baked stuff.…
So it's just a matter of skinning it decently and making sure the rope has a good number of subdivisions? I was just wondering if there was something more automatic for getting something like this done. I can do the whole thing manually although I'm not sure how good I can make it look. Here are some of my WIP pictures.…
Ok, I'm starting my thread now for my character project over the school break. I'm going to do a character model of the Jon Conner character from the new Terminator Salvation movie. No WIP shots, i just think that if i start this thread it'll make me more likely to start and finish it on time. Also, makes me want to be the…
