Something I put together for the blizz student contest, but I didn't really put the right amount of time + planning into it so sort of ended up pretty underwhelming... would like to revisit and take another try at this in the future.
I absolutely love the front grip. You captured the alien skin (or whatever it is) so well. I would love to see that carried more throughout the skin or perhaps another skin strictly in that style in the future. Awesome work.
Ahh sorry, I'll do that in the future. The levels so far are design only. No custom assets. I do plan on getting accustomed with asset creation and texturing though, as I can only assume it's good knowledge to have!
Calling this project done for now due to a tight deadline. It's still missing some details but I'll probably revisit it sometime in the future. C&C welcome :) More images can be seen here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/oo4Xz
Sounds too good to be true. Those licenses could be legit but I'd bet they are the standard "Not for resale" licenses that get sold to companies. So registering them in your name then upgrading them in the future might be at least troublesome if not impossible.
@Deathstick: I think I should have phrased our studio as tiny, rather than small :D .. but none the less your point is worth considering for the near future. @pior: That's a very good point. Thank you.
I'm calling this done. I've got quite a bit of assignments to do so I had to finish her up. 17626 triangles 2048x2048 for the main textures 1024x1024 for the secondary textures Feedback would be appreciated for future models :)

@Chridelisle I recommend using an existing piece of concept art for the immediate future. If this was self designed off of an existing Mass Effect 2 heavy weapon design, it needs a lot more care in the concept stage for it to look appealing.
Looks great man. For future reference, if you WERE going to bake this down to a low poly, it would probably help to have a smooth bevel on some of the edges. But since that's not the case for this, doesn't really matter at all. Nice work.
