Yeah, I've been using it for a while. The legacy animation is still there for now. Many of my script errors from upgrading were very easy to pin down because unity would say "That command has been deprecated. Use this command instead."
roosterMAP: Don't think so since it's heightmap based, I am not 100% sure tough. I found a error in the text "On March 9th 2010 Epic released the March beta for the Unreal Development Kit" pretty sure it's 2011 atleast it is here ;)
Also creates artifacts. Just use this rule : "Use trial and error, plus logic, to come up with a reasonable amount of geometry. Moar" Test stuff. Just do things to learn. It's cg... you can create and delete, create and delete and so on.
Thanks guys. You've both pretty much confirmed what I was thinking, but I wanted to be sure. This is just for my own stuff at the moment, but if I was working on things for other people or paid jobs, I don't want to be making obvious errors.
try triangulating the model before you export it to source and see if you get those errors. Looks to me like a smoothing issue. You could also try throwing an extra edge in there to help the engine figure out how it's supposed to be shaded.
Okay people, errors fixed and another piece added! what do you think now? Also, any suggestions on what I should do next, I'm kinda struggling with coming up with something interesting. :/ https://www.artstation.com/artist/maxilator
This is looking real nice stickadtröja, small feedback would be, i can spot some smoothing errors at the bottom hem of the jacket. might want to add another loop in there for that extra bit of sweetness. also the hands look a bit undefined right now
I'll definitely keep that in mind. I'll definitely fix the pinching. I'm not sure what you mean by "jagged." Are you talking about the actual geometric shape? There are pieces on the hull that look like they are z-fighting, but that's a rendering error I'll have to look into.
Is it a mayabinary file or a mayaAscii file? if there's an error in the script editor with a line number you can save your file as maya Ascii and go and edit that line to be correct. Also try exporting the whole file to OBJ and reimporting the OBJ. This might also fix it.
@ WarrenM, I would only add and remove geometry if you are going to use handplane, otherwise it will cause shading errors. The distortion can also be caused by the highpoly/cage being too different from the low poly. You should post the models.
