Little more lookdev for the crystal. I want to have this super distinct iris in the center but right now I'm using a high poly mesh as a placeholder to visualize.
still so much to do . . . gonna shelf this until i finish the creep den. there's a pop in the crystal's animation due to the gif -- feels much nicer in maya :)
;) since some people asked for it, here colormaps of both versions: the right golden part is just bakes with simple coloroverlay. the crystal/magma part is hand drawn.
Maybe Dynamic U, Dynamic V? It sounds like something to distort the viewers perspective (water/crystal/shields), kinda like a refraction map... Anyone else?
Looks Sick!!!!!!!!!! The side panels came out really nice. Great work as always. One thing... Put a reflection on that crystal ball and try to add some depth into it :)
Worked on my lava textures. Trying to establish the transition to "frozen" lava better. Crystals are starting to form as the lava is cooled. Unlit without the tube. Texture flat WIP.
Well, from a physical standpoint, it's true. Only metals (and some crystals?) have coloured specular reflections in reality. But it's not a hard and fast rule for artwork that's not aiming to be physically correct.
Are there any polycounters in theMenlo Park/Redwood City/Palo Alto area? What are the nice spots to live in this area? Are there any polycounters from Crystal Dynamics? Thx, -R
This is looking really cool I really like the hair and like the way you have done the crystals :) Ihttp://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=144340&page=2
