I can't tell if what you're talking about is related to the "unfold" bug that occurs where the bottom left (0,0) vert disappears/gets stuck, but my work around to that problem has always been to rightclick and copy the uvs, then immediately paste.
Make the unfolded blendshape a wrap deformer for the object you want to deform. If the object is large you'll probably need to do some fiddling around with the deformer's tolerances, as its default settings assume small distances are involved, i.e. less than a centimetre.
nice second piece buddy ! yea i wouldn't invest too much time into it, looks pretty mint already, your first piece is coming along beautifully - and now you speak of a third??? mannnnn cant wait to see that one unfold !
the main problem i faced with my decimation master is unfolding. as i wanted to cut certain shapes out of the model and seperate the UVs it could be done easily by retopo so it could be customized to what u want but in decimation master its random.
thanks Daf57!! I'll keep working at it till is done! CaesarAlbertus said: Excellent work want to see it with the final textures ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ yeah!! me too but there is still pieces to unfold and organize but I'm almost there! hahaha, thanks man! that means I'm doing it ok!
You can planar map the mesh or part of the mesh you'd like to do this to, then run this script to select hard edges: polySelectConstraint -mode 3 -type 0x8000 -sm 1; resetPolySelectConstraint; And then just use the Cut UV Edges tool, and unfold the resulting islands.
@jose.fuentes The new UV functionality is the Unfold 3D tool, which does make unwrapping a snap: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HLhazEa8wmw However it wouldn't entirely solve your problem, as Quack! noted, the shape of your object is difficult to get distortion-free.
Folding something using Bones isn't easy, but you don't have to make it perfect. Beetles fold their flight wings with the elytra closed...and the unfolding happens so fast, you hardly see anything of it...unless you want to make a slow motion animation ;)
when i was twelve my neighbors kid threw a folding lawn chair at me and when it hit me in the head it unfolded. and after hte hurting stopped it wasn't awesome at all so i should sue the company that made the springs in the chair right?
After Unitising the UVS, use Move and Sew UV Edges (with the edges selected, shift RMB up) to stich all the faces together. The tool will automatically align all the shells and try to maintain the original size and shape. Then refine the mapping using unfold and relaax.
