Well, before leaving to work this morning I spent another hour at it. It's down to 4400 triangles with a more optmized mesh and better UV layout. I'll work on the little projection issues I'm having and texture it properly during this week.

A new gallery on my portfolio , this time it is a customizable low poly character (1600 to 2200 tris depending on the props) that I made for an incoming project from Qigames.
Here's the lowpoly with normal and AO sits around 7200-ish, left a little room for some fur cards on the shoulder. Gonna finish the texture over the weekend~
Multiple lowpoly views i've made of the gun, is there anything i'm oding wrong here? the current tiangle count is at 8200 tris. Is it considered too much for an FPS?

You can pick up a consumer grade printer for $2400. We grabbed one for work just recently. You won't get the level of detail that Lewis' machines can pump out, but the quality is better than you might expect.
Allright, I'll def have that photo sourcing thing in mind and be more careful in the future. El trianglo es fixed, had to spin the edge. I also optimized the slide model and rebaked it, from almost 4500 tri's down to 4181.
