The exception to EQ's description is 1 bit alpha (AKA alpha test), which when compressed as a DXT1 texture costs nothing extra. I believe that it simply reads any pure black (RGB 0,0,0) as transparency, doing away with the alpha channel entirely.
For perspective.. http://epicgames.com/community/2012/11/free-art-tool-released-thanks-to-epic-friday/ The start line is when you pick up a pencil / tablet and put down your keyboard / mouse. aka, get off forums and just DRAW!
@zeldrak,gilmeister74- Thanks for visiting my sb.It seems that people have been liking the gorilla ent aka "Greenback".I was planning on making a series of RTS like units based off that concept but atm I'm into making some zombies..:) Thanks again
Tacit, i love your work ! These little sketches really need to become a true and big project ! Did you already thought about creating a game or a short film ? Ala Nick Carver's project ( he's creating a whole world himself) ? :poly142:
aha, thanks guys! png it is then and targa if i want to keep the alpha maps but basically speedtree will optimise it anyway, hat's what i took from all this, thanks for super png! looks like something i should be using instead of normal png
Or you could just put the effort in to do your bakes properly, ala "using a synced pipeline" or whatever people like to call it. There's no reason you should need to add geo to a lowpoly just to make it shade better if you're doing everything correctly.
LOL - yup Vincent and I just ran into this man. We were hoping it evaluated per pixel not in parallel - but alas we were wrong. Would love to see an improved slope blur! Good luck and please let us keep us updated!
Im confused, is Metalness Map supposed to be inverted Rough/Gloss Map ? or is Metalness Map supposed to be black and white colours ( aka ID map ) and then Rough/Gloss determines the tightness of the reflectivity ?? :( I think the problem is its flat, :( but I dont know why :(
Thanks dogzer and Allan-p! Before I get back to the previous models, here's my 3d version of Sailor Moon concept by Dirk Erik Schulz, AKA Themrock. This guy is a monster at drawing. http://cghub.com/images/view/63635/ It's not finished yet.
Here's a print my buddy got of one of the Satyr Brutes from TQ [model by "coolest-guy-ever-Brian-Parnell AKA modeling_man"] He's about 5 inches tall. $110 shipped, from 3darttopart.com . Low poly shape resolution intentional.
