Well, I've watched some of them. I know that quads is the most optimal for my mesh, expecially when it's animated. @Jack M. Thank you for the kinds words! And that great idea on adding variation to the grass. I think I have a good idea on how to accomplish it by sampling the landscape texture plus tiling a subtle noise over world space but I haven't tried it out just yet! Decided to call this finished. This project posed an interesting problem where the inside of the room needed to be pretty dark but the outside still needed to be lit enough to be able to see what the city looked like, I think I managed to find a decent balance. The 'secret' is years of practice and hard work. Definitely work on your 2d and fundamental stuff alongside your 3d - I see too many people who are good enough in their 3d application, but turn out bad work because of bad foundational skills. Also - don't expect to get to be able to make things on par with that 'flash… -

Ha, well personally I see it a bit differently ... it doesn't really matter to me how good (or bad) the hollywood versions are, because the source mangas/animes are still filled with things unnoticed at first glance, clever craftsmanship to go back to and learn from, obscure spin off volumes to dig up on ebay, and so on.… -
