Rectangular is totally fine. IIRC there are some specific compressed formats that only support square pow2 sizes, but that's a very tiny percentage. Using lower-res supporting textures is a good idea. Often the RMA (rough/metal/ambient-occlusion) texture can be lower-resolution than the diffuse or normal. Masks are similar. -

Oh, but then we are talking about astronomically huge differences. Houdini is a modular software that is built from simulation and area recognition, everything in Houdini is modern and take a good lot of time to process due to it's power, there is no comparison between Maya and Houdini. -

Yeah it's funny, Polycount is not really a great platform for job ads. It's a forum first and foremost. We added the work sections because people were clamoring for it. There are lots of options like Artella around though. More power to them all! -

Nexus 7 all they way, isn't locked down like apple hardware, is made by Asus so has good hardware, is very powerful for its price, also isn't loaded with HTC or Samsung bloatware, just stock android. -

Yeah that was a bit weird when he used the flashlight, and how insanely bright it was (1,000,000,000 candle power!). But it would have been pitch black out there, and with rough terrain like icey lakes, moors, and marsh lands, maybe it was necessary. -

I got Pintrest like a few days ago. Now my board is full of references, tutorials, videos and tips and inspiration. It's the most powerful tool in my arsenal for guidance as a whole for an artist. Oh, and to Niuva... A god among guidance. -

Is this a serious character design or just a practice piece? If it is the former, the character background is very weak. A powerful telekinetic teenager working for a secret government organisation is as cheesy as it gets. At present, the concept would work only if it was highly self aware and meta.
