I am interested in the contest, I just learned about it! The downside is I dont use any of the DAW's listen and since Ive upgraded OS on mac PRo tools is not supported unless I buy the software license again. I am willing to deep dive on the project but there needs to be a way to accomplish this so those of us that…
Update 2: -I have made some grass which has made a big difference already, i also would like to make some moss foliage and ferns to scatter around on the ground. I have not made a tree im happy with in speed tree yet but i have 2 versions planned that will fill up most the blank space in the background. -I added moss in…
Nice video. If only everyone asking for help would edit material like this to make it easier to understand. It seems to use additive blending throughout the whole sequence, that's why you get the saturated, overexposed colours. I don't understand the original texture being greyscale, though. Where does the red, orange and…
I cant shake off the feeling that this has everything to do with Marmoset's relation to smoothing groups. Whenever your nmap is being generated in xnormal and Max, the lowpoly's own smoothing is taken into account; the nmap is crafted to the lowpoly smoothing that is there at the time of render. I've never used Marmoset,…
Thanks everyone for the kind words and great advices! Sorry about how late this response is. Been busy lately. @stickadtroja: Good suggestion as I really had no reference for the forest floor. @Gannon: I have changed the tree crown and edited the vertex normals so it shades right. @Zepic: I ended up using the Slide Tools…
I think its too dense and still has some tightly packed areas. This is about 1 or 2 subdivisions up from a standard base mesh that I would create. I normally stick to 500-3k polys (not tris) for base meshes, I toss a turbosmooth modifier on top to see how it will sub-divide. You can also use the tessellate and mesh smooth…
tbaugher: Cheers :) I am happy to hear you liked it :) adam: Don't worry about that, I have taken it as a compliment ;) But yes, it takes a lot of effort to make something bad in CE2 :p I have to admit, it's incredibly easy to work with (that's pretty much the thing that kept me motivated to learn modelling and mapping…
Ah yes I have looked at it. They used it for dead rising there is a cool video up about how they integrated it into their pipeline. It used to come bundled for free with something... If you can't get it for free though it costs an arm and a leg. I will see if I can find more info. Edit: Okay so mental mill really is an…
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] get a mac? [/ QUOTE ] Ewwww. [/ QUOTE ] you are retarded why do you think most print companies use macs? [/ QUOTE ] The only time I've worked with a Mac and printing was probably the single worst computing experience of my life. It was at a skills canada competition for graphics design, and…
I'd like to see a spellcheck installed... on Adam's computer! Actually, it's not been that bad lately, but the first few posts regularly contained more typos than concent ;) But seriously, you're doing a great job with it, and I really enjoy the news posts. I also like the ability of the news to link to cool stuff that's…
