Not supported usually means that they won't guarantee that it all works as intended and if you happen to run into issues they're not going to investigate when you are not running on an officially blessed configuration. So it wouldn't be smart to buy such a card if SP is an application you actually rely on.
As far as I know you should use triplanar projection in that case. But you will get blending artifacts which might or might not be what you want. Maybe a 3d-noise is more suited but not sure if it's possible to apply really seamless pattern that way.
Getting there slowly! Discord challenge is this Saturday so we shall see how it goes! Hopefully get it near completion for then. Once I've finished this I wanna look at adding a material blend with water level and tweak the roughness to make a wet variant.
DoF generally causes that. The sky is far away so it gets blured a lot which causes the edge of non blured objects to bleed over. A good DoF implementation will have some way of fixing that but I have no idea what options there are in unreal.
looks nice! i think if you add a vertex blend to your brick and the main metal part it could take this a bit further. check this out http://eat3d.com/free/vertex_painting nice job i like your version of the art test
looks fantastic! Only things that I would say may help is to match the post processing to the concept a bit more as your final images lack a bit of atmosphere and mood, the sky should be brighter, especially bleeding away from the sun location! :)
if you turn off self-shadowing for the fur and steal the normals from the underlying character then it blends rather well even with default shaders. keep in mind that these guys likely render out in passes and with masks too and treat certain surfaces differently in compositing.
The updated one lacks definition and contrast with all of the elements blending together into a hard to read mess. I think you need to find a happy medium between the old one with it's excessively stark, black shadows but clearly separated elements and the new one.
I was confused by this as well because from time to time I saw threads that had 3D printing or it was just high poly sculpts. That said, the game art outnumbers everything else here, so it's up to you how you'll blend in the populace. :|
Ahhh, now that... that right there is love haha... Great update, I'd say the gas price plaque/billboard thing could do with some more washing out, bleached from the top and blending back to full saturation at the bottom. Great work (Y)
