Saturated the textures a bit and increased the contrast. That should helpfully remove the desaturated look. thanks guys really great advice so i pegged it back a bit and changed the pose to a more natural looking one with less strain on the shoulders i intend to continue to tweak until im happy then im going to retop it so the detailed sculpting can begin , any more thoughts would be greatly appreciated :)

Read the dang Kickstarter. Massive Black has and will continue working on it. I'd say they know their stuff really well. Just found out about this today. It looks quite fancy. Hi, I think.......:poly117: It is your software problem.... may be any of 3ds max's system file or settings you lost. Try to reset 3ds max from customize menu and after doing that problem apear continue then just reinstall it. You fill that process little boring but I'm sure it will clear your problem completely.:)
Here is the LP mesh with a basic normal and colour maps. After toying around I finally got the normal map to actually work (somewhat). I don't really like it.. I think I'll continue on with the rest of the model, and reassess this object once I'm further through. Thoughts? The texturing stages is where I feel weakest.
Your modeling abilities look pretty good, but overall the models silhouette is extremely dull. I would consider doing a paintover before you continue, look at how interesting the Gears weapons' shape is and avoid the rocket launcher reference.
