Hey there, I'm trying to write a simple script in MEL, at least I hope it's simple, to select a series of joints, toggle select the translate and rotate attributes from the channel box, and then bake simulation (because I want the simulation to only bake those attributes). I tried this this last night, but because Maya's way of transferring maps is wacky, when you have it set to transfer the normals it doesn't grab any information from the map slots of the source mesh. What's a good program to use for a final render/screen grab of our hand painted stuff other than grabbing a screenshot from Max or Maya (unless this is the best way to do this)?
