Disregard me, turns out i'm a silly person. Who would have thunk that having your Diffuse map in your emissive slot would interfere with the lightmaps? ./facedesk
the archway has been sculpted and taken into zbrush, as well as baked down and decimated, its missing diffuse information as well as specular info. the brick wall is a 512 normal map.
Yeah, it's from being too dark. Darken it in the engine through the Diffuse color option. Whenever the CryTiff exporter gives you that message, you'll most likely see banding.
I think it's because it's so easy to get good looking metal with PBR. Set metalness to 1, set roughness low, diffuse color to something mid-range, done. :)
you need more noise or an overlaid photo texture to breakup the consistant color on your diffuse and spec. The amount of plain red you have is what makes it look cartoonish.
looks good. on the side rails i think you went a bit heavy on the edge outlines. it looks a bit too strong there (almost like its too opaque in the diffuse)
nit picking but change the background color in you diffuse to something other than white also maybe some subtle hue variation in the wood would be good I think.
I finished it... to an extent. There's still quite a bit of fur missing from the concept, but I think it looks OK for my first full character. Diffuse: Specular: Normal: Transparency:
