You could use zbrushs 'recreate subdiv' tool to rebuild your lower subdivisions. I tend to create the lowpoly by modifying the base, and optimize the geometry knowing that it doesn't have to be all quads.
Also i dunno which version you are using but turbounwrap gives a lot more options to the default unwrap modifier (not sure if they improved in 2009) http://www.chuggnut.com/Scripts/TurboUnwrap/TurboUnwrap_Max9.rar
Yea, i'm just going to end up redoing that character i think, or really heavily modifying it, then re-unwrapping it to get a better resolution out of it and make it use more texture space
I think she may be using a heavily modified version of it. I do however recognize this guy! From 3d.sk And yeah, why does that woman look like she has a dong?
Ah thanks! I've never used relax before, it really helps. I feel like such a nub with all these modifiers and buttons I haven't figured out how to use yet :P
-Day 06: Drawing- Not really happy with that one, so I'll either modify it or make a completely different one before posting it in my portfolio. Based on "The Enigma of Amigara Fault" by Junji Itō. A quick parameter to warp the shapes around.
I usually just stick a uvw map modifier on, set it to box and set the dimensions to match the physical size of the texture. That gives you a decent base to start from - all the densities are correct and it's easy to shift stuff around.
You could make a spline in the bevelled form you want, type out the text you want, then apply a sweep modifier to the letters. I can post pics later about what I mean if you'd like.
this is the message i was getting. and i did was export and make my uv layout and reimport "The Topology of the mesh has changed. Press Yes to transfer the hi-res details to the modified mesh Press NO to delete the hi-res details."
So long as the scans themselves are heavily modified (as in not distributed as-is from Megascans.se) it should be fine. :) If you're basically taking the *.ZIP files and placing them into a mod that other people can open up, I'd say no - that's definitely not fine.
