Yeah, I thought that was in bad tastes. Although, that shows you the type of people running the place and to be honest, it doesn't surprise me. It's the 'I don't give a shit anymore' attitude. You know you're going to get fired so you push buttons.
This remind me about "Lost" (TV series) when you living alone on an island, and have to press the damn button every 108 minutes to save the world. Well, that sleep circle make sense, otherwise I think I would go crazy
What happened to space shows is that they started trying to be BSG (see Stargate Universe, which had potential but rapidly turned into this dull fucking personalityless painful excuse for a show). Haven was fun, and seems to hold some promise. Lead actress is cute as a button, too.
Just for the info, you might not need the script at all, as Autodesk added this feature in Maya 2011 (maybe 2010, not sure). Edit Mesh > Detach Component now splits edges like the Split button in Max (doesn't completely break the vertex like it used to).
The top is a bit of a strange design. Is that more or less how it's going to be (I assume there'll be buttons on those dark spots), or is there more to it? At the least, Ithink you need to have a good look at some references and see where you need to put seams and the like.
you also could just watch the eat3d one and adapt it to maya, actually might give you a better understanding of how the tools work if you have to understand what is being done and do the equivalent instead of just hitting the same buttons as in the tut.
if youre working on editable poly mode then you should check for the button "turn" in the modifier. you will then be able to change the direction a face is plit into two tris. i hope thats what u wanted to know, maybe i got you wrong though...
this is a terrible model of a gun, haha, it's kinda funny. how the hell would it work dude? it reminds me of a barbarella weapon. it's got needless buttons on the back, heh. but hey, practice makes perfect son. keep your chin up and your nose to the grind.
Thanks guys for the good vibe! @Li Siegfried Well, I used the original concept for those horns and I think the concept artist did a superb job on horns. I will post soon the final images before i will hit the finish button. Cheers!
You have symmetry on. Go to the menu at the top of the interface, choose transform. You will see Activate Symmetry in the drop down palet. Turn off all the axis buttons. You should be good to go. :) You are pressing the hotkeys by accident while you are modelling.
