Looks like you have some smoothing errors that are likely due to different triangulation in the baker, and the app you're previewing in. You could try triangulating before loading into the app(marmoset? UE3?) or triangulate before bake maybe
If you didn't mess up and actually unsubscribe from all by accident, then it could be a database error (happened to me a few times), you ISP all of a sudden thinking emails from PC are spam, or they are going to spam folder.
the smoothin error on the turret comes from a polygon in "tension" try moving the verts around so the polygon is perefctly square. If its supposed to be curved or be part of a curved object you need to add in more edges to support the curvature
/Agreed On a side note has anyone else had an issue with random pages throwing errors and having to abort? I'm not sure but I think it only happens in IE. I had this happen on a page in gen discussion and in SWAYWO.
huzzah, windows rebooted gave an error message that uxtheme.dll wasn't a windows image and refused to load the shell, luckily I could reboot into safe mode with command prompt and restore the backup that way. I'm using WinXP Pro
oh it absolutely will if you do not lock in the triangulation. it's one of the most common error sources and the reason why many unreal projects flush their data through unreal into the baker. So they can stay with quads and work dcc agnostic to some extend.
Correct. It is designed to work with "water tight" volumes only. This means any holes will be filled if you don't do it manually, and single-sided planes (or even super-thin volumes) will lead to other errors in the result (such as a "swiss cheese" effect).
Thank you! I will try that! I dont mind if there is a lot of issues as i just dont want to have to remodel the whole gun again... So if ihave to fix some errors thats no big deal at all! Thank you!
If you're baking in Substance, be sure to set the tangent space to Xn/Mikk in the object properties. Also, you should absolutely not add loops, bake, and then remove loops - this will cause a discrepancy with the mesh and baked normal map that will cause shading errors.
hello! here is the final for my character for games class :D a lot of fun doing and a lot of errors generating maps... thanks a lot everyone. thanks Jackson!! maps final render 1 I will post more angles later :)
